The good news is that it works at least somehow (contrary to the bug 838
http://zeitlin.homeunix.com/cgi-bin/mbugs/show_bug.cgi?id=838) -- what has
happened to make it start working?

There is no way to do it right now mainly because I didn't find any decent
one, UI-wise.

There was a discussion about this issue here when I implemented the
virtual folders support some (long) time ago and I asked whether the
messages should be deleted from the underlying ("real") folder when they're
deleted from the virtual folder or not. Nobody came up with a good solution
to accomodate both your needs and those of someone who just wants to remove
some serch results from the virtual folder view without affecting the
underlying real folder and so I decided to not delete the messages because
it is safer, in general.

I still don't see any good way to implement this neither. We can, of
course, ask the user each time whether he wants to "really" delete the
message, but is it a good solution? As you're the first person asking for
this feature, it would be nice if you could come up with a way to implement
it ;-)

 Thanks,
VZ
