I have casually looked for such lists, and have not found any that cross
the whole spectrum of digitized atlases, but certainly could have missed
something. One rather remarkable effort is the celestial atlas group at
the Linda Hall Library:

Several sites mention a few of the atlases individually (such as Robert
Harry van Ghent's page:
http://www.phys.uu.nl/~vgent/celestia/celestia.htm),
but--understandably--some of the links to the more expansive celestial
atlas site are outdated. Sites such as Rumsey and American Memory have
individual atlases contained therein, something likely already known to
many on this list.
As you say, it is hard to keep up with these things, not simply because
of the volume of new material, but also because the sites tend to "walk
about."
