Mr. Dickson,

You asked:
I have the coastline and regional boundaries of Scotland as Polyline
data. I want to convert them into regions, so I have regions for the
regions! Everytime I select all, and convert the data, it does its
usual, and goes mental, putting the boundaries into the sea! I have done
this conversion before for England, even though it took several
attempts, but I cannot figure out how to do it anymore.

Answer:
I suggest you to try MapLogix, the topological map editing utility for
MapInfo. MapLogix lets you use your polylines in order to build region,
without destroying original lines like the "convert to region" command.
Maybe that this tool will not solve your problem of "boundaries into the
sea", which seems to be a problem of projection. Be sure that your table
is projected instead of in long/lat.

You can download the demo version of MapLogix at
http://www.korem.com/maplogix or on MapInfo-L FTP site.

Hope this helps,
Jose
