Hi All!
Newbie license granted for the list (joke) but not for the rest
(seriously).

Such practice is most unprofessional.
You show absolutely no respect for the efforts the creator of your
dataset made to ensure some degree of geometric accuracy.
How would you classify the accuracy of your result?

The e00 file contains coordinate system info. If it was made as non
earth, it was, and only by a geodetic recalculation this geometry can be
put into a projected system. How did you do your reprojection?

Did you use ArcLink for the format conversion? My experience is that as
long as the e00 file adheres to ESRI standards, this link works fine,
translating all attributes as well as the geometry.

I suggest you contact the provider of your data, explain your problem to
them and request a new file made to fit the coordinate system you want
to use.
