By golly, you're right! The first byte in the DAT file is the dBASE
version number and the next three are the revision date in YY MM DD
order--exactly the same "Y2K non-compliance" as SHP. True, too, it
was only a pedantic point, and I guess we ARE all in the same boat.

Suit yourself. The gods always love to see a few non-believers
around. It gives them something to aim at. Just don't be surprised
to find your toaster keeled over dead on the counter and your
refridgerator widdling on the floor on the morning of Jan 1, 2000.
