I think that my speculations are just as valid and useless as yours which is
why I put those speculations in the first post. Its pointless speculating
about what grave things will happen if the US precipitously pulls out.

I don't know where you get the figure that says the Taliban causes 70% of
the civilian deaths, but percentage wise, that figure is certain to drop as
30,000 more US troops, with helicopter gunships, close-air tactical support,
and drones are sure to get the US up where it belongs, where it historically
ranks in the killing women and children category.

And I suppose the US should have stayed in Cambodia to prevent the blood
bath produced by Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge, right?

You miss the critical point-- the US presence is so destructive that, unless
there's a proletarian force, even one as distorted as the former North
Vietnam in control, then the response is going to be of the Pol Pot or
fundamentalist type, just as the response in Somalia to the supposed
"humanitarian mission" of the UN/US was increased warfare-- and what a
beautiful state of affairs now.

You think grave consequences might occur if the US precipitously pulls out?
That's like saying you fear 100 copycats if you stop Jack the Ripper from
killing.
