Louis, There are some very suspect sources in this Jacobin article, if you follow the links. Like one to an AP article based on the work of Adrian Zenz, known to have ties to the Victims of Communism Foundation. This organization is also known to use sources from the Faulon Gong as information about the Uyghurs.
Other links here ,like the one from China Digital Times, cite Radio Free Asia as a source, as does this article at least once. As the propaganda arm of US empire, RFA is suspect by its very nature. Other links here are paywalled, or do not cite sources.
