But I have a far darker view of what Donald Trump will do to keep (and expand) his power. Seems with what I have learned and observed, the changes of internal government posts and whom holds, favors more authoritarian rule for Trump. One way is to not be shocked if a "terrorist attack" occurred on the U. S. Capitol when in session both the Senate and House.on January 3, 2027 Trump could benefit from such, with more power and less government intrusion. As Hitler had benefited from the burning of Germany's Parliament Building then. Trump could with his right wing religious faith believers, carry this out and remove a government body that then provides him opportunity to declare Martial Law, as excuse to assume full authoritarian rule. Why would Trump risk losing power and his corrupt wealth - relying on elections? He has never expressed an interest in either - as "acceptable loss of Congress" and those lost Congress Lives, not behaving as he would want. The mindset of a insecure narcissist and megalomaniac - and reflected in many examples - and for those on this list or in the general public - to ignore that real danger, seems reflective of how weak the U. S. Left is - relying on comforts and not needed struggle against fascism (and the threat of). I have mentioned this possibility before on this list - with no response - and thus assume this is a focused academia discussion group with no intended reality to organize and address. As I began - with hoping this is not a likely outcome in Trump's mind and his close religious faith hater fascists mindsets willingness to carry out. But is not Pete Hegseth role seems even more "making sense" with his firing generals and admirals and evicting then from ther homes on military bases - AND have given to members of the U. S. Cabinet instead - on bases not public accessible. As many government posts ended and rerouted to other tasks not for securing oversight but the very opposite.
