I basically agree with John, here. This is VERY serious and finding ways to combat his move toward dictatorship is going to require true mass mobilization. While I share with all the ideal of union mobilization of its members the likelihood of this occurring is somewhat limited. If one thinks back 27 years to the fiasco in Florida when counter-revolutionary Cuban-Americans were mobilized by the local GOP to attack election workers, the unions, including SEIU that represented these workers did...nothing. This was a shameful non-actions by the bureaucracy of the AFL-CIO. While I believe there will likely be far more union activities around protecting the franchise, I would never, EVER, rely on them. A real united front for democracy needs to be built that socialists can both initiate and be active in is what is called for.
