The prereq-compile-install scripts were put together so that even non-technical
people can easily install 3rd party tools. You can even download a single
script (a work in progress), which on a freshly installed Linux from CD
installs complete running Matterhorn 1.2 in about an hour or so without
intervention.
About the prerequisites - the scripts checks if they are already available on
the system and only then installs them. So you can ignore the step of checking
the prerequisites and go right to the compilation. This is best done via the
supplied script menu3p, selecting steps 1) and 2). All this is described in the
accompanying README.txt.
