If you are using Mac OS X, this might be related...
We had a similar problem running "ls -l" from a Mac OS X to a Unix
NFS-mount, while the same Mac OS X concurrently modified a file on the
NFS-mount.
The goal is to retrieve file status updates (inode file size
information) while the file is being changed.
This process works great from Unix to Unix mounted files and on local
Max OS X files.
But, it consistently froze up the modify service when run from the Mac
to a (large) file on the Unix NFS-mount.
It problem seems to be the way the Mac side NFS client handles NFS
mounted file inode locking that is not fully documented. No combination
of nolocallocks, nolocks, etc. nfs_mount options resolved the issue.
Since we had to use the Mac OS X, the work-around was to do the modify
and "ls -l" status checks on the local file. Then copy the modified file
to the mount when done.
Basically, the same solution yours!

At the engage server in config.properties I changed the parameter for
"org.opencastproject.search.solr.dir" to NOT point to a folder on the mounted
nfs-share but to a folder in the local engage server file system.

We are experiencing this as well with our 1.2.x deployment. Nothing to report
from the logs, other than some recordings simply get stuck in a workflow state
and never progress.
We had no occurrences of this before the 29th of February, all though this may
be a coincidence.

if you hit the little "gear" icon next to each workflow in the "Status" column,
you should get to a list of operations that the workflow should be processing. Can you tell us what
operations are left?

Hello,
I installed Matterhorn 1.3 across three servers (Admin, Worker, Engage). Uploading a
single video (5 MB) works without problems but uploading multiple files (presentation,
video and audio) will not finish within Matterhorn. All works fine until the system hangs
at "Status - Processing : Published". There is no exception thrown in the log.
The system now hangs more than 12 hours and will not finish. Disk space is enough. The
latest output of the three logs (Admin Server, Worker Server, Engage Server) is shown
below and I attached a small screenshot of the status.
Has anybody an idea what's wrong here? I'm very thankful for any help!
