>1. Regarding the update to 10.2.3, can I download the update at work >(fast connection) on a PC and burn it to a CD without problems?
If you keep it in the .dmg format, yes. My technique is to use Software Update to check for updates at work, select the checkboxes in SU, choose "Download to Desktop" from one of the menus. SU downloads the updates, and I apply them manually. I place each one in a folder and make a .dmg of the folder with Disk Copy. I write all the .dmg files to CD for use in other parts of the building or at home. Why not download the .dmg files from Apple? Apple doesn't release them at the same time as SU sees them. I like to keep my pants _up_ when it comes to security updates, so I treat them all the same, and get them as soon as they are released. >If so, what other updates should I consider getting as "essential"? Make sure it is the "Combo" update if you are trying to go from 10.2.0 to 10.2.3 in one step. The "Regular" 10.2.3 update is for updating from 10.2.2. If you run Maya, check their qualification list for your graphics card. Maya is picky about the exact version/build of the OS (OS X, IRIX) it runs on. QuickTime 6.1 IE_522_update.dmg - I think this is separate from the OS update now. You might need to got to the Mactopia site for the download. Chimera 0.6 Safari 1.0 Beta v0.51 Rumor sites peg 10.3 in September, if that means anything.
