Actually it was pretty snappy when I had 128MB, but since I've upgraded to 576 I've 
noticed that booting is very slow.  I'll live with slowness of X though for the 
increased stability.

The reason I never upgraded was that when I bought the G3, the "next gen OS" was "just 
around the corner" and being a poor college grad I've decided to hold off on the 
upgrades until I found a sweet spot.  Jaguar is the sweet spot.

In the meantime, I've been scrounging old equipment to learn Linux and NetBSD with.  :)
