I'm beginning to wish I lived in the US. If you now examine TDK video
casettes they have a lifetime guarantee, but things are so bad in the UK
regarding these now that TDK supply labels to stick onto their products
stating the guarantee is good for as long as the format is still available.
They started doing this in the UK beacuse brands such as Scotch, Memorex,
ProTape (aka Radio Shack / Tandy own brand), Bush and countless others all
brand their tapes etc. with lifetime guarantees, but so far not one person
has ever managed to make a claim to the knowledge of Trading Standards.
UNfortunately the way the laws work in this country prevent us from taking
much other ation than not buying the products, but that has little effect
when the majority of these brands are the cheap ones bought by most people
who simply cannot afford to spend the money on decent recording media.
