For the record - I've been doing free software and open source for almost 25 years, so I'm in the same situation. > So, when I say "this is my personal opinion, and has nothing to do > with Nokia", I expect people to believe it. In fact, more often than > not, when participating in the open source community, I disregard > Nokia's interests (or rather; what my managers have told me are > Nokia's interests). Again, just speaking for Intel here - the corporate position is that whatever I say reflects on Intel and could possibly be taken by the press as an Intel statement. Whether I like that or not, whether I write a disclaimer or not, doesn't matter. That is the key reason why we insist on disclosure. I'm happy for you that Nokia apparently has different rules. > IOW, I I'm a "community guy", and which company I'm working for at > this particular moment is irrelevant, and I know plenty of people like > that; @ti.com, @collabora.co.uk, @nokia.com, @linux.com, etc. > > And BTW, LKML doesn't require any "company disclosure". Why do you keep coming back to "requiring"? No one said they did. No one proposed that MeeGo does. I give up. Enjoy sending email from any address you chose. Enjoy pretending you don't work for Nokia and you don't get paid for working on MeeGo. I have no problem with that and no one proposes to establish any rulse against that. I apologize for trying to explain something that clearly has only served to confuse you. Forget everything I said. /D -- Dirk Hohndel Intel Open Source Technology Center _______________________________________________ MeeGo-dev mailing list [email protected] http://lists.meego.com/listinfo/meego-dev
