Target support should come in the form of plugins, if not already so (the fact you can choose to install a subset of targets and components in the NSQ installer suggests that). Such that distro packagers could package them separately and you could then have your distro installer get you the version of creator and offer you to also install its set of compatible target plugin package. Most of the FOSS stuff does this already on Debian/Ubuntu.
