Oops, thanks for pointing that out - my bad. Basically, the early 180B
strut with the small stub axle looks for all the world identical to the
1600 one. It uses smaller wheel bearings and a smaller castellated nut to
secure the hub to the strut. The stub axle on the later 180B strut is much
larger and obviously uses larger bearings and so forth.
Also, the flange the wheel mounts up to on the hub is round on the later
struts that you need for those conversions, whereas the early hubs and 1600
ones have cutaways between the wheel studs on the outer circumference of
the flange ( whew ! ).
That's a fine solution to the offset adjustment too - well done.
