Yes, I've seen this done in a 1600 and it works well but it's a bit backyard
looking (imho). There is a business (can't remember name but i can get it as i know
where they are) that does this conversion in Queanbeyan NSW, don't know any tricky
bit details other than talking with their manifold fabricator on night at a meet -
costs? etc. i can find out if anyone is interested in further info.
