Dave,
Before I changed the cam timing the car was a bit peaky from a standing
start, a bit guttless and then bang boost came on and it felt o.k. Now the
car is a lot more driveable and tractable, with more power/torque down low
therefor coming on boost sooner.
Well my dizzy cap and rotor are in need of replacement but I am not going
to replace these parts, I plan to remove them. I am working on
microprocessor controlled programmable crank fired ignition ( what a mouth
full).
I am running stock standard internals and an RB20DET turbo running 12psi
boost with the knock sensor dissabled and no intercooler on PULP. I do
however get some pinging under heavy load. I think it would best to
intercool anything over 10psi boost and try to get the knock sensor working
well.
I cut the oil return from the 910 sump and welded it into my 1600 (510)
sump. I cut and welded (to change the angle) the oil pipe from the turbo
and joined the two pipes with a rubber right angle that I cut off a new
heater hose that I chose at supercheap ( ford something I have the number
if you want)
Increase performance same for any car, feed air intake with cold air,
install intercooler, increase boost, free flowing exhaust, increase boost
and add water injection. Z18ET specific, install crank fired ignition,
prgrammable injection, larger throttle body.
        Keep in touch,
                        Pete.
