You need to tighten your
pressure plate. Going by what you just said, your good run yesterday must've
been a day when the thing waasn't flopping around inside. If they aren't done up
tight enough, the pressure plate is gunna flop around like a swung cat.. And
when it does that, the clutch plate has a chance of moving off center when
you have your foot on the clutch. Does it feel like the engine is running lumpy
or out of time or something?
Thanks Wojee, that sounds like the go. I'll
have pulling the box out, I'd say. Meybe pull the radiator, and move the
motor forward on the engine mounts for more room.
The funny thing is, I did my return trip to work
today ~100k's, not one single clash either up or down through any gear.
It's got me stuffed. Some days it's perfect, others it drives me nuts
!

Wardy, I had the EXACT same problem!!!!!!!!!! Take
the gear box off and tighten the clutch / pressure plate bolts..........
don't ask me why but it stopped after that.....
