Title: RE: turbo'd L series

Tim,

I had a really old Fast Fours magazine which had a 200b in it. It was running a Turboed L20, 240K 5 speed and a Nine inch diff with a 4;56-1 ratio. The engine had forged pistons 7.0-1 comp, turbo cam, custom manifolds, T3/4 Turbo which sucked through 2 x 1 3/4 inch strombergs. This car ran a 12.2 quarter mile time. As far as HP, it must of had 3-400hp (Maybe) ??

Cheers,

jeff

    Hey all,

I've been looking at that Jason510 site someone mentioned on here a couple
of days ago and on there it talks about a 2.2 litre turbo'd L series engine.
I have heard from a few people that turbo'd L series go pretty hard cos
they can rev and rev all day long, however its a pain in the ass to turbo
one of them.  My question is, would this engine be worth it when weighed up
against just buying an Fj or the like, considering money and efforts put
into it. Would the outcome be a pretty powerful engine compared to the
imported engines or would it just be an even match? ANy info you guys have
    would be appreciated! thanks
    Tim
