Christie,

Welcome back.

Why do you want to overcome the rev limiter? There is no reason to do this
on the DET. If it was a non-turbo SR, then OK, you need the revs to get the
power. With the turbo engine you can make all the power in the midrange, so
you don't need to rev it so hard. It only puts unnecessary stress on
expensive engine parts.

I have had mine re-chipped and LOWERED the rev limiter for safety's sake.
That way when I'm on the track giving it the berries I don't have to worry.
With the standard turbo they things run out of breath by about 6500 anyhoo.

Not sure on the manual. I have access to an S14 manual and an S13 (CA18DET),
but I've not been able to get my hot little hands on an S13 - SR manual. If
I do, I will let you know. Much of the S14 info is relevant, but certainly
not all.

Subject: SR20DET - Vibrations

Hi all,

Glad to be back after a long out of town work.
Now I'm back with my SR20DET. Hmmm....the
vibration is gone.

Thanks to Errol, Pete and many others who came
to my aid. I had my friend to all those things
on the list.

The culprit is the front shaft(just between the
centre bearing and gearbox). Actually its just
a micro off the centre. I guess it got off during
the welding. Anyway it can't be inspected by the
naked eyes. I had it inspected at the engineering
shop.

BTW, anyone know where I can download the manual
for a SR20DET? I manage to dowload the S14 manual.
Heaps of info:)

ANyone knows how I can overcome the rev limiter?

Thanks again Guys.

Christie:)
