Well she's still got the 'Datsun Miss' and I cant seem to find out what's
causing it. It runs well enough but 1-3 times a second it will miss.
Aparently it was running sweet when it was on the 1981 200B auto, and it has
been transplanted into my 1977 200B manual, I guess anything could have
happened between.

Today I tinkered with the points. One side has a 'pit' the other has a
'hill' that fits in the pit. Would that cause it? I tried to file it down
but it was too hard and almost blluntened my file.

Would an incorrect dwell angle cause this? Would incorrect ignition timing
cause this? I'm wondering because I've got no timing light at present...does
anyone know how to build one on the cheap?

It has a coil off a Sigma (with resistor) and the distributor cap is off a
bluebird s2 (with electronic ignition I think) and I've tried various rotor
buttons, plugs and leads from various Datsuns and all do the same thing.

Here's an MP3 sample I took of my engine if you want to listen to it:

(187Kb) you can hear the broken exhaust rattle everytime it misses.
