Nicholas,

I think you will find it is a faulty sender, comparing
Stanza and 200B ones will not work as they have
different resistance.

I had the same problem and after doing exactly what
you have done, didn't get a result, but replacing the
sender with the type that is supposed to be fitted ex
factory, ended up working like a dream. They can be
difficult to replace but I think the Stanza one is
like the 1600 one ???? A threaded collar is used to
seat the factory one into the housing.

If you are serious about monitoring your temp, do so
by using a good quality guage and not the factory
setup. You could do as I did and use a full polution
control 200B thermostat housing (has 3 openings for a
variety of pollution sensors) use 1 for the factory
guage, 1 for the aftermarket guage and the last I used
a brass plug to block it up.

Interestingly I have a similar problem with my fuel
guage ... full = half. I have replaced the sender and
dash units but to no avail, I would really like a fix
on this if anyone has any ideas ???

Regards

Bruce
