Nat,
Coupla questions

What do you want, torque or top end? What gearing are you going to use both
gearbox and diff ratios? What suspension setup and brakes? What is the
weight of the car with fuel and crew in it and what is the weight transfer
like?

It isn't expensive to get decent ponies out of an L18, but the rev range has
to be appropriate to your driving experience. No point having a 8500rpm
screamer if you are gonna crash every corner.

We are all more than happy to help with advice as thr is a lot of experience
on the list, but sit down and work out exactly what you want as a good
competitve P510 is a whole package, not just a motor.

Subject: 180hp L18 rally motor! Is it possible? Cheap!

Morning all I am thinking of building my own motor,
Can anyone give me any handy hints as to what to do, I
want about 170-180 Hp out of a L18 block.I would love
more but I think the budget does not allow for that!
Is it worth using a L20 crank to get the extra cub's?
And how much am I looking at sopending, My budget is
about $2500, I could make it a little bit more!
Cheers NAT
