if the car has electronic ignition it should have a 12 volt coil on it where
as an old points with resistor only has a 6-7 volt coil. they both look the
same but you can tell the differance by a. there should be a stamp on the
bottom of the coil saying its voltage or b. on the 12 volt ones around the
lip of the ciol at the top there should be a hole in the casing to stop it
exploding if it gets too hot.
