The best wheels and tyres I have ever felt on a 1600 were 14X6.5 with 185/65/14 Advans...fantastic.  maybe a tad wider wouldn't hurt.  The worst I have felt is 17X8 with similar tyres...very heavy and dull feeling in corners.

The marine industry use "Sika-Flex".. Its the best silicone going ...
They use it to join the 2 halves of a fibreglass boat so it should be perfect for a bonnet.
Bloody messy tho. I won't open the tube unless i got a bowl of heavily soapy water for clean ups. If u make a mess and don't clean it straight away u will never clean it up.

Does anyone know what kind of silicone (i guess) is used to join the bonnet shell to the bonnet skin.
 
The guy at auto 1 i spoke with had no idea.
 
 
Also is it possible to get a 1600 engineered in sydney with 16 inch wheels or is 15's legally as big as an engineer will let you go?
 
will 16x7 fit on the front with 240k struts?
and will 16x8 fit on the rear without more than lipping the gaurds?
