I have 5/8" UNF Rosejoints on the lower arms on my 1600 rally car & have
never had a problem with getting a warrant in NZ.

They with stood a 4 x rollover which bent tie rod ends & rear control
arm & showed no signs of any damage. You would be supprised how strong a
good quality rose joint is(emphasis on good quality). If you looked at
most modern WRC cars all of them use rose joints for suspension
adjustment. They do need regular maintenance with lubrication though or
they will flog out.
