If its anything like the starter motor problems I've had with L-series
motors
(all starter motors are pretty much the same in principle) then you may be
right
about solenoid contacts. Also check that the solenoid piston moves freely
and also,
being a simple electromagnet, check that the solenoid piston casing
(electromagnet :
is basically a coil of winding wire wrapped around a cylinder)
is becoming magnetic when power is applied to the solenoid coil.
Thats all I can suggest, in fact when the problem first starts, you can
usually
free up the solenoid by giving it a medium whack with a hammer, or a brick
as
I did late one night in a deserted carpark whenI was trying to get home.
