The starter isn't in the car atm, i'm going to put it back in this arvo and
do as you have suggested. Test that power is getting to the starter
correctly. I pretty much assumed that if power was getting to the solenoid
to push the pin forwards then the starter wouldhave power. Hopefully i am
completely wrong. I'll let you know how i go. There were no burn marks on
any contacts at all, infact they look brand spanking new.

Also the battery isn't mounted in the car atm and is earthed to the engine
and chassis, is this wrong??
