Thanks andrew, I did think I had a 12a exhaust housing but I am not so sure now. It is not the same turbo as I saw in a picture on the net taht is of a supposed 12a turbo!! It is still a hitachi turbo. I'll take it back to bill tomorrow and see what he says. I would prefer to use the larger exhaust wheel but fitting it in would mean taking a rim of meat out of the housing near the tip of the exhaust wheel. but I can see it would still work!   Heath, see above :)   I have the digital camera here now so I will take some pictures and post them tomorrow. Depending on the type of turbo the exhaust housing goes onto a bit of a taper and has a heat shroud between the housing and the cartrige.Ive only ever had to spray some wd40 then hit the ex housing with a hamer whilst holding the cartrige in my hand.I always use some never sieze on the bolts and housing when assembling them.
