Richard.
I was under the ussumtion by what I had read that, air, just like in brake lines
compresses at a different rate to the oil.
Maybee I am wrong, I have been known to be at times. :O) As I was just recently when
trying to work out how a electric sender worked.
Thanks Chris for clearing that up for me.
I think when it comes to a engine, and the fitting of warning guages, it is always
advisable not to go buy the cheeper version.
Some thing the cheeper will do but not when it comes to your engine and the diagnosis
of faults.
After having a oil pressure releif valve stick on my old orange sedan while idoling
through the carpark at work, blowing the oil filter and leaking oil all over the
carpark.
I went to the auto sparky, and had him play with the under dash wiring, fitting
resisters and the like so I could hook up a 12 volt hallogen downlight behind a red
screen bolted on the steering shroud, just incase it happened again.
I wouldn't of liked this to happen while doing 100km/h down the freeway.
The engine woulda died by the time I spotted the idiot light.
Luckily I was only idoling when it happened the first time and I heard the oil
spraying in the engine bay.
Later.
