Cheers for that Richard.
Any Idea where I'd be able to get my hands on a cam and have some work like
that done to my head without too much money spent? I'm in S.A. is this common
sort of practice or will I have to seek specialist advice?

You need to increase the compression to at least 9.5 to 1.
Flat tops or welding in the combustion chambers will do it.
I would say a maximum of a 74 degree cam if you do a bit driving in city
traffic, if its a country car, go for the 76 degree and enjoy using it!
