Brad,

Indeed - ever used them? We fitted Bilsteins on a the first 180B that we set
up for dirt - first use of a L18 with T3 Turbo which was a very new
experience. Very quick car, competitive with XU1 Toranas which were killing
the local scene, main problem was stopping it without chewing rotors every
weekend. The main problem encountered with the coil overs was the stock rear
towers just fell to bits (literally), I'd never seen destruction like that
in a Datto before. Lennocks redesigned them a lot like totally, it look more
like a Zed when they'd finished and they fitted cross braces bolted from the
tower top to the opposite side floor and re-enforced with welded plating and
the problem seemed to be solved. I can't say it handled better than the
standard rally 1600 setup as it just didn't (IMHO anyway, but with the power
it had it was great to drive. The car got sold before we sorted it out or
fully developed it's potential, my co-owner went Sports Sedan racing when he
acquired an interest in an Alberta and that was that.

regards
Terry
