I presume the car was parked outside in the weather - the only time I have
experienced this problem was actually while driving thru floods out in the
Riverina near Griffith, and I was going to a 21st so it had to blow up
before I was stopping for a look see (no fear in my youth). I went thru a
culvert that was very deep and obviously got water in the bell housing - I
had to drive for around 30 minutes or so without a clutch - not a real
problem with a Canadian top loader, but I thought it could have been exy to
fix if any damage was done to the dual plate clutch.

Terry

I tried to rock it in first and second gears, wouldnt work! I had to warm
up the car, restart it in 1st gear and rev up and down the street, open
throttle, closed throttle, open, close etc trying to jerk it free. Did'nt
work until I picked the revs and clicked it into 2nd gear put accel. pedal
to the floor, then off and a huge metallic PING!! sounded from the bell
housing as it came free. Absolutely no apparent damage, clutch worked fine
after that!
