Only early American 240Zs had 4 speeds. We were lucky and got 5 speeds. Early 240Z gearboxes had the same internals as 2000 sports.
All US spec 240Z's and 260Z's had 4-speed GB's. They didn't get the 5-speed until the 280z in about 1975, I think.
Oz spec 240Z's up until mid '71 used the FS5C71A 5 speed GB which is largely based on the 2000 sports 5-speed except for the bell housing, mainshaft and extension housing (and possibly some other minor differences).
