Mobil 8000 is definitely in my opinion the pick of the fuels - we don't have it here but I got some on the Hume Hwy a few weeks back and it burns much smoother than any of the others in my engine, Optimax & BP Ultimate is the same fuel in the ACT or at least it used to be. These fuels will block filters etc when you first use them after Super or LRP as the cleaning agents will dislodge any grunge in the fuel system.

Sounds like you may have dislodged some crap inside the tank. I haven`t heard of Optimax causing starving problems (but have heard that it can damage rubber hoses/components).

Drain the tank and blow out the lines with compressed air ( just make sure you disconnect hose from carby end), replace the fuel filter and try again.

If you want the best filtration use a metal cased filter to suit an EFI system. These filter down a lot further than the normal fuel filters. I used one on my old race car with twin 45`s and the bowls were always spotless.

I prefer to use Mobil 8000 or BP Ultimate down here in Vic myself.
