Mobil 8000 is definitely in my opinion the pick of the fuels - we don't have it here but I got some on the Hume Hwy a few weeks back and it burns much smoother than any of the others in my engine, Optimax & BP Ultimate is the same fuel in the ACT or at least it used to be. I haven`t heard of Optimax causing starving problems (but have heard that it can damage rubber hoses/components).   Drain the tank and blow out the lines with compressed air ( just make sure you disconnect hose from carby end), replace the fuel filter and try again.    If you want the best filtration use a metal cased filter to suit an EFI system. These filter down a lot further than the normal fuel filters.
