Depends on what you plan to do and how often you use it. for electric, buy Karcher only. Never snears or campbell housefeld. they melt with a very low duty cycle.

Electric is good for occasional use. Serves my purposes. But with the karcher, I got the rotating head. that makes all the difference. I never use the other stuff, and without the rotating head, I would probably agee the electric are now useful. But with it, the karcher does all i need. I used it to peel paint off a house before painting. It does not strip paint, but does peel anything loose and any dirt/chalk.

I despise briggs engines, and I will put up with some annoyance to use an electric motor that runs when you flip the switch (like a Diesel) rather than futzing with a stupid Briggs trying to get it to run.

Now put a one cyl Diesel on, and I will be happy.

All good points about "bigger is better" if you want to really peel paint

And skin. I know someone who managed to hit his hand with the pressure stream and cut a finger to the bone. I know I have caused pain but no damage to my feet and ankles while washing things and wearing flip flop sandals. The higher pressure ones work better but they are dangerous to life and limb. They can also damage items being washed if one is not careful. If you need to remove the painted lines on a parking lot, then bigger is better. If you plan to wash the car with it, then don't go overboard on size.

I have not used one, but I am told that the rotating zero degree head can make up for a lack of power if you want to remove paint from a fence or some such.
