Vegas never "had" me, but they really lost me for good when the hotel a fewyears ago when I was there for a military reunion made me hobble painfullyand precariously, picking my way through, amongst and though many slotmachines and card games across a HUGE room to get to the check-in desk onthe far, back side of the room from the entry. 'Made us wait another 3hours or so 'til 3 PM before we could go to our room. Then, guys at theservice desk told SWMBO for 2 days that they didn't have wheelchairs forguests, though we saw several with hotel logo/name on 'em. When SWMBO askedagain en route to breakfast on third day, service guy told her to ask at thesecurity desk by the restaurant. When SWMBO asked at security desk,security guy was incredulous, "He told you WHAT!? You stop by here afterbreakfast; I'll get you a wheelchair." We did, and he did. 'Used it fornext coupla days; 'never registered to pay the supposed required rent on itand left it outside front door when we left by taxi at 4 or 5 AM.

I made damned sure I didn't drop a coin or bill of any sort in a slotmachine or card game. I won't be back. BTW, I'd been to Vegas severaltimes before, so I was not some naive, country hick shocked by it all.

They can go to etc.

BTW, in 1961/62, we lived in Rancho Cordova, CA, near Hwy 50 betweenSacramento and Tahoe/State Line. Local saying was, "Lotsa people headed upthe mountain on Friday afternoon on $4000 Cadillacs returned Sunday eveningon $40000 buses."
