Audi made a diesel engine at the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans. The new
Audi R10 is powered by a completely new 5.5-litre, twelve-cylinder
bi-turbo TDI engine which is extremely economical and quiet. Believe it
or not made "Made from aluminum" If made with a lot of AL, watch it melt
away because of the low melting point of AL .....

There are several STC’s for Diesels in single engine aircraft (maybe multi’s
too, but I haven’t read about it yet), and it looks as if will take off (no

And as far as Jet engines go the French engines in the old Alouette II
helicopters would fly on just about anything. I have used bunker fuel out of
the boat I was on and Mogas (regular gas) was restricted to 50 hours and you
could burn Diesel everyday of the week.
