A friend of mine filled his tank with gasoline in Alabama several years
ago ....got about 4 miles and the diesel engine went dead .....he has no
good words for the MB dealer: Felt the south was getting back at a yank
again.
Dealer took two days to do the job, he was forced to fly to
Cleveland, then back to Alabama to get his 300D. expensive mistake

LIke gasoline, it will burn badly and knock and smoke quite a bit, and
give you fairly low hp as well.
Stick to #2.
Jet engines won't run on #2, either, except for some of the really old
ones (like J-75s), and even then are very hard to start.
