A friend of mine filled his tank with gasoline in Alabama several years ago ....got about 4 miles and the diesel engine went dead .....he has no good words for the MB dealer: Felt the south was getting back at a yank again. Dealer took two days to do the job, he was forced to fly to Cleveland, then back to Alabama to get his 300D. expensive mistake

Stick to #2.

Jet engines won't run on #2, either, except for some of the really old ones (like J-75s), and even then are very hard to start.
