I hope your '79 240D has the Fast Glow plug kit - you probably wouldn't need
to double cycle it - you'll love it if you don't already have it! Rusty has
them for less than $100 last I checked -
It made a huge difference in my 78!

My 240D starts at 5F with Mobil 1, new glow plugs and starter, 5 year
old Interstate battery with new alternator. I just double glow.

Similar to my thinking when I hear the news report "bitterly cold" for
Boston where it'll be 20. Its always at least 10 degrees colder where I
live 60 miles west. For me bitterly cold starts at 0F.

Thanks,
Bring your charger and dino oil up here where you can really give it
a run for your money. 14F, childs play!! That's about where I switch
to long sleeves. Make sure you top off exit 15 or further North so
you get enough kero into her.
