When I changed the filter in my SD, I did it with the engine warm.
It immediately restarted with the new/empty filter and the idle knob
cranked all the way up.
When it stumbled, I gave it more throttle, and it didn't die.
Then it cleared up and ran evenly on all five cylinders again.
I don't know if that's at all hard on the fuel system, but it was easy
on the mechanic.
