[MBZ] Vacuum Modulator

Hello Friends, I was going to play with my vacuum modulator on my 300D 
2.5 and can't see on the modulator where or how one adjusts it.  I hear 
that there is a "T" type arm that can be twisted to adjust the flow of 
vacuum.  My modulator is black and has a plastic, cream colored cover 
over it that turns, but doesn't seem to affect the vacuum.  I don't want 
to pry this cover off unless I know that it is indeed a cover.

Is the famous "T" behind this creme covered cover?
