I found my new job by posting my resume on dice and monster and a recruiter called me for a position in the city. I was amazed at how much demand there is for good IT workers... it's a pretty good market right now, IMHO. Apparantly it's tough to find good IT folks. In this area however (i.e. mid-hudson-valley) you're probably better off going with the social networking channels and foaf networks. linked in certainly doesnt hurt. I'd use every resource available and see what you get
