Are you talking about just coating the crowns? I would think it's worth doing, if done right. I would probably go with factory rings on factory pistons. My 2cents, etc

Long story short, I have a 94 block (free), H-beam rods (not free), and stock pistons (free)laying around. I was planning a major build but i was pressed for time and need a reliable block NOW. I can't afford Forged Pistons, so i have looked into Ceramic Coating my spare stock ones. By talking with a shop who specializes in ceramic coatings they assure me of all the benefits and mention no negatives whatsoever. I am not looking for the ultimate block, just a stronger than stock one. If i decide to go this route, what rings should i get? I do not mind spending some money on rings since thats what keeps the compression in there. I am not spending a lot of money on this build as i have a friend that built many FE and BP motors helping me put this block together after the machine shop cleans/hones the block and polishes the crank. I pretty much have my mind set on ceramic coating the stock pistons unless someone talks me out of it, all I still need to go through with this is a choice on rings. This block will not see more than 12psi max!!! So, last call on ceramic coated stock pistons and what Rings do i need to go with for the stock pistons?
