Prices may not climb much... I think the market for early gen Miatas
may be fading.
I sold my '97 FMII for $12,000 a couple years ago. Last fall, a buddy
bought a '94 FMII for $4250, with lower miles, better body, but older
turbo than mine.
I think I was pretty lucky, and so was my buddy, but there's still
likely a trend.

If FM gets $650 for a unknown mileage 95 without CAS, manifolds or

What's the perceived "appropriate price" for a used 1.8 with <50k
miles?
$650 shipped to me in NC (from CA) for a 1995 1.8L with maintenance
records/leakdown/compression test results with 60k/miles. That was
what I paid 2-3 years ago. That included the intake manifold and
CAS but no TB, injectors, flywheel, coils.
I've got someone offering me a local 1.6L with 100k/miles for $350
but I don't trust a 100k/mile motor on boost to get a reasonable
service interval on it.
Parts are supposed to get _cheaper_ as the years go by. I guess I
just won't buy from an overpriced junkyard unless I have to.
For my car, I'm getting the numbers worked up on a rebuild. Labor
is quite reasonable ($500 to recondition the head and block) but I'm
still waiting to see what the parts cost will be.
