Funny, Teri had an Rz350 and I was looking at the two Gamma frames
today. One has a raptor 660 engine sitting in it and the other is
waiting for its 570 original engine to get put back together after
extruding a piston through a rotary valve. and there's an rd400 engine
sitting on the floor for some reason....
How, exactly would I go about bringing up to full voltage, not owning a
variac?

        Thanks, Vince. I've actually had both units running, just
haven't fired this latest one up with its new caps, etc. Probably a
still idea to form the caps, though?

        A good rule when powering up unknown tube gear is to start up
using a rheostat.

        Good luck!

                I've been getting back into vintage tube stereo stuff,
just finished (I think) restoring my second Fisher 500B. First one was
bought new by my Dad in 1962-3. Question is: Is it really as simple as
hooking up neutral and power the way they were and adding ground wire to
chassis if I want to convert to three prong plug? Or will that make the
smoke leak?
