Agreed on the loctite fix, tried and true for miatas. A miata person talked 
with the loctite engineers years ago and that was what they came up with. 
I did one of these fixes on a 1.6 and the kid drove it from Ohio to California 
I believe, then sold it, still running fine. 

*only time I've put one back together a tooth off, I was so worried about the 
crank and getting everything right I missed the intake cam and it's typical 
rotation

Do the tried and tested loctite fix and forget about it. I don't see a need for 
a crank sleeve unless you want to spend $150 for a sleeve instead of $5 for a 
bottle of loctite.
