I've never heard of this fix before. Consider the fact that you have the
keyway to deal with, so how do you put on a sleeve and still have a keyway.

Here are the standard articles on a bad crank. The first doesn't apply 100%
to your case since it is talking about the short nose crank but lately
people have had regular cranks fail too.

Subject: 95 crank diametor

Hi. I have a 95 fm2 with 100k. Timing belt repaced at 85k. While Un
turboing my car for smog ( Ca.) I noticed the pully wobbling and with the
timing light it looks like the timing varies plus or minus 2 a few times a
second. the car seems really sluggish below 3k rpm.
I pulled the pully and timing gear and found that the key was broken in
half. A guy suggested that I put in a crank sleeve around the crank.
Aparently you slip it over the crank and tap it in under the first bearing.
but I need to know the diameter of the crank where it hits the first
bearing. the measurment has to be down to the thousanth of an inch.

does anyone know the size? ( in inches or mm.) thanks, John
